From Accent to Impact

From Accent to Impact

Navigating language, culture, and career as an international professional

Building a career in Denmark as an international is about more than having the right CV or qualifications.

It’s about understanding culture, navigating language, and learning how to show up with confidence — without losing yourself along the way.

From Accent to Impact is an evening event created for international professionals who want real insight, honest stories, and a practical perspective on what it actually takes to succeed in the Danish job market and workplace.

Through two live interviews with inspiring women, you’ll hear firsthand experiences about culture, language, leadership, and career growth, followed by time to connect with others on a similar journey.

What to expect

This is a conversation-based event.

You’ll experience:

  • Two live interviews with accomplished women working at the intersection of culture, language, leadership, and international careers

  • Honest reflections on challenges, mistakes, and turning points

  • Space for audience questions (submitted in advance and during the event)

  • Time to network with other international professionals in a relaxed setting

Whether you’re actively job searching, newly hired, or already established in Denmark, this event is designed to leave you with clarity, confidence, and renewed motivation.

Meet the speakers

Laurence Paquette

Laurence Paquette is VP and Global Head of Brand and Marketing at Vestas, one of the world’s largest renewable energy companies. With more than 15 years of experience in international organizations, she leads global brand, marketing, and positioning at a senior executive level.

Laurence is also a keynote speaker and the author of the upcoming book Lead Anyway. Beyond marketing, her work focuses on leadership, neurodiversity, mental health, and inclusive culture, especially how non-traditional leaders can lead with clarity, credibility, and impact without burning out or pretending to be someone they’re not.

In this interview, Laurence will share:

  • Her journey as an international professional in Denmark

  • Leading at a high level while being neurodivergent

  • How to create impact without forcing yourself into a mold that doesn’t fit
